A smart cursor is provided to prevent mistyping and to enhance working efficiency by arranging a plurality of information required for input around an input standby cursor on which view of a user inputting characters is concentrated. A user inputs a Caps Lock key or a Num Lock key. A previous state of the Caps Lock Key is switched if the Caps Lock key is received, and the previous state of the Num Lock Key is switched if the Num Lock key is received. The state of the Caps and Num Lock key is checked. It is informed to the user that the Caps Lock Key is turned off by adding a Caps Lock Key on/off icon to the input standby cursor of an input screen according to the obtained state of the Caps Lock Key. When the Num Lock key is turned off, it is informed to the user that the Num Lock Key is turned off by adding a Num Lock Key on/off icon to the input standby cursor of the input screen according to the obtained state of the Num Lock key.
