<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent thermal deterioration by efficiently radiating the heat of polarizing plates so as to suppress temperature rise. <P>SOLUTION: The polarizing plates 131R, 131G and 131B emit the incident light of a prescribed polarized component to liquid crystal panels 130R, 130G and 130B. The polarizing plates 131R, 131G and 131B are irradiated with reflected light from the liquid crystal panels 130R, 130G and 130B. However, metallic films are vapor-deposited to the emitting surface sides of the polarizing plates 131R, 131G and 131B, and heat generated at the polarizing plates 131R, 131G and 131B is radiated from the metallic films via radiation panels 136R, 136G and 136B. Thus, temperature rise of the polarizing plates 131R, 131G and 131B is suppressed to prevent thermal deterioration. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
