<p>A culture control apparatus for culturing cells or tissues and controlling the position of cell or tissue adhesion and the direction of extension thereof at the culturing, characterized in that the apparatus comprises a substrate having a cell-nonadhesive substance immobilized thereon, an electrode disposed in the vicinity of the substrate and a computer for controlling the function and behavior of this electrode, so that electrochemically active oxide species is generated by applying an oxidation potential to the electrode to thereby modify the cell-nonadhesive substance immobilized on the substrate to a cell-adhesive substance.</p> |
