The present invention relates to a vacuum insulation panel (30, 40) comprising two laminate films (33, 43) each having at least one layer that forms a barrier to gases (35, 45) and a sealing layer (34, 44), a core material that is sealed, at reduced pressure, between the two laminate films (33, 43) and is arranged such that the sealing layers (34, 44) can be opposite one another, and a seal (31, 41) extending from the inside peripheral edge of the two laminate films (33, 43) to an outside peripheral edge that defines a seal width, the sealing layers (34, 44) being fused to one another so as to surround the entire circumference of the core material, the seal (31, 41) having at least one narrowed portion (37, 47), wherein the thickness of the fused sealing layers (34, 44) of said narrowed portion is less than the thickness of the fused sealing layers (34, 44) that are not narrowed and extend substantially parallel to the edges, characterised in that said narrowed portion(s) (37, 47) is/are arranged in the region of the outside peripheral edge and/or in the region of the inside peripheral edge of the two laminate films (33, 43). |
