PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To encourage reductions in cost and size of a motor device 1 for a vehicle.SOLUTION: The control means 6 of a motor device 1 has a three-phase mode that sequentially performs three modes that applies a voltage to three-phase coils 7U to 7W, and two-phase modes that selects and repeatedly performs two of the three modes. By virtue of this, using the two-phase modes makes it possible to reduce consumption power required to operate a rotary electric machine 4 as a motor and also makes it possible to restrict heat generation of a switch S and the coils 7U to 7W. In addition, reverse rotation and stop can be prevented by utilizing accompanying rotation of the rotary electric machine 4 by an internal combustion engine 3 even if rotating drive force of the rotary electric machine 4 decreases due to the use of the two-phase mode. Accordingly, the motor device 1 can be encouraged to reduce cost and size.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
