PURPOSE: An information storage medium is provided to comprise a head having the second identifier which shows a start position of a body by being disposed just before the body, thereby properly reproducing data even though the data is frequently recorded on a recordable disk. CONSTITUTION: A recording unit consists of a head, a body, and a tail. The head is attached in front of the body to protect data contained in the body when reproducing the data. The body has user data. The first identifier(1) corresponding to synchronization data is disposed on the very front of the body. The body contains a parity for error correction. The first identifier(1) notifies of a start of the body. The head and the tail are attached to front/rear sides of the body to protect the body when recording the data through linking. During the data linking, the head is attached in front of the body to protect the first identifier(1), and the tail is attached at the back of the body to protect the user data contained in the body.
