The fitting has a runner housing (11) with rollers (8) mounted on it, a bearing element for attaching the runner (6,7) to a door or window panel and a lifting device for raising and lowering the bearing element and hence the panel relative to the runner housing. The bearing element has at least one supporting surface supporting on the running and/or guide rails (9) or a part of the door or window with the rails for relieving the load on the rollers and/or rail. An independent claim is also included for a runner for an inventive device.
