PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wear resistant sintered alloy exhibiting excellent high temperature wear resistance in high load engine environments such as a CNG (compressed natural gas) engine and a heavy duty diesel engine, and to provide its production method. SOLUTION: The wear resistant sintered alloy has a structure where, into a matrix, a hard phase having a composition comprising, by mass, 20 to 40% Mo, 7 to 9% Cr and 2 to 3% Si, and the balance Co with inevitable impurities, and in which precipitates essentially consisting of molybdenum silicate are integrally precipitated in the shape of a cluster into a Co based alloy matrix by 5 to 40%, and a lubricant phase at least comprising 4 to 25% Cr, and in which chromium sulfide particles are precipitated in the shape of a cluster into an Fe-Cr based alloy matrix by 5 to 20% are dispersed, and further, Cr sulfide is dispersed around the hard phase.
