PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal composition quickly responding among a colorless transparent state, a colored transparent state and a diffused colored state at a low voltage and suitable for the drive of a liquid crystal element having memory function and provide a liquid crystal element responding at a low voltage in a short time and having memory function, a reflective display material and a light modulating material. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal composition contains a siloxane polymer having a liquid crystalline group on the side chain, a dual frequency driven smectic A liquid crystal composition and a quaternary ammonium salt.
