PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of sequentially writing sequentially received image data to an optical recording medium. SOLUTION: In a write list registration processing, the image forming apparatus sequentially stores image data transferred from a scanner section 15 to free areas on an internal memory 13 and sequentially registers area information including a head address of the free areas to a write list every time the storage of the image data to consecutive free areas is finished, and in write control processing, the image forming apparatus sequentially references the registered area information items to particularize the areas to which the image data are stored, uses a CD/DVD drive 161 to write the image data in the particularized areas to a disk from its head, and writes respective information items resulting from changing each head address on the internal memory 13 into a head address on the disk among respective area information items registered to the write list after all the image data are written to the disk.
