The truck has a loading area arranged behind a driver's cab (2), and a hybrid drive comprising an electrical machine, a battery unit (9B) and a generator unit (9C). The generator unit has a generator and an internal combustion engine (11) e.g. diesel engine, for driving the generator. The battery unit and the generator unit are arranged behind the driver's cab underneath the loading area. The generator unit is arranged between a front axle (4) and a rear axle (6), so that the internal combustion engine is inserted transverse to a vehicle longitudinal axis.
