<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mount a circuit substrate and a liquid crystal panel in parallel when dividing a sapphire substrate with a laser scriber. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display uses the sapphire substrate for one mother substrate, uses a transparent substrate for the other mother substrate, forms a plurality of liquid crystal panel parts, and scribes with laser to allow the liquid crystal panel divided into individual liquid crystal panels to correspond to an image display part of the liquid crystal panel so as to bond the sapphire substrate on the circuit substrate forming an opening part. Outer peripheral edge parts of the circuit substrate and the liquid crystal panel have a bonded structure without any interference, and an escape part is formed at a position which contacts with the outer peripheral edge part of the sapphire substrate.
