Disclosed are a message sending processing method and apparatus, and a network device. The method comprises: a back-pressure apparatus disposed between an interface board and a forwarding chip in a network device receives messages sent by the interface board; the back-pressure apparatus back-presses a message of a specified type among the messages; and the back-pressure apparatus sends the back-pressed message to the forwarding chip. By means of the present invention, the problem in the related art that the message forwarding efficiency is low since a network processor firstly analyses all the messages and then processes same is solved, thereby effectively releasing operating system queues and dispatching resources, and increasing the data forwarding efficiency.
