PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for biologically treating an organic effluent which is easy to construct and makes it possible to reduce high-place work and save a space.SOLUTION: In an apparatus for biologically treating an organic effluent in biological treatment vessels arranged in multiple stages, organic matter is decomposed with dispersed bacteria to generate first biologically treated water, in which the number of the dispersed bacteria is increased, in a first-stage biological treatment vessel 1, and animalcules prey on the dispersed bacteria in a subsequent second-stage biological treatment vessel 2. The first-stage biological treatment vessel 1 and the second-stage biological treatment vessel 2 comprise columns 10, 20 having the same shape and the same size, where the columns have a height of 6 to 11 m and the ratio of the height to the diameter of the columns is 1.5 to 5.0.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
