PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abrasive finishing composition having high smoothness and high abrasive finishing speed and maintaining the effects of them.SOLUTION: In a first embodiment, an abrasive material is provided in which a surface of a solid particle (B) is coated with a coating layer containing a (co)polymer (A), and the solid particle (B) is one or more kind selected from among silica, alumina, cerium oxide and diamond. In a second embodiment, an abrasive material is provided which is identical to the abrasive material in the first embodiment except that the abrasive material has a penetration layer in which the (co)polymer (A) penetrates from a surface of the solid particle (B) to the inside, and a volume average particle diameter of the solid particle (B) is 0.01 to less than 5 μm and the thickness of the penetration layer of the (co)polymer (A) is 2 to 50% of volume average particle diameter of the solid particle (B).SELECTED DRAWING: None |
