PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aerial image and virtual image display device that enables a visual observation of a created aerial image from a near position, and makes a size of the aerial image, a size and position of a vision area serving as a range capable of viewing the aerial image remain unchanged even when a position of the aerial image changes from an actual image creation position up to a virtual image creation position.SOLUTION: An aerial image and virtual image display device makes light from an original image 10 sequentially pass through an incident side lens 1 and emerging side lens 2 of an optical unit formed by having the incident side lens 1 in which a focal length is fand the emerging side lens 2 in which a focal length is farranged with a distance between principal planes of both lenses as almost f+f, and selectively creates an aerial image 11 and virtual image similar in a shape to the original image. The aerial image and virtual image display device includes structural means that makes a size of the aerial image or virtual image, and a size and position of a spatial image-formation iris surface 12 remain unchanged even when forming the spatial image-formation iris surface serving as an enlarged image of a lens pupil of the incident side lens defining a vision area capable of viewing the aerial image or virtual image is image-formed, and changing a creation position of the aerial image or virtual image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
