PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus and a location positioning method capable of improving positioning accuracy in execution of backup positioning and suppressing generation of a positioning point largely separated from other positioning points in continuous positioning.SOLUTION: A portable terminal 1 capable of acquiring a positioning result by base station positioning even when a positioning result by GPS positioning cannot be acquired includes: an approximate position derivation part 12 for acquiring a positioning result by the base station positioning and deriving an approximate position; a history acquisition part 14 for acquiring positioning history for a plurality of latest positioning results by GPS positioning; and a correction part 16 for correcting the approximate position derived by the approximate position derivation part 12 on the basis of the positioning history for the plurality of latest GPS positioning results acquired by the history acquisition part 14 and determining the corrected position as an estimated position.
