PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hermetic compressor provided with high reliability by preventing a large amount of liquid from flowing-in into a compression chamber. SOLUTION: A discharge valve 117 opened to the outside of a communication passage 115 is provided on a wall surface opposed to a suction pipe 107 of the communication passage 115 extended from a suction port 114 and communicating the suction pipe 107 with the suction port 114. Thereby, since a liquid coolant 116 flowing-in from the suction pipe 107 and a large amount of oil can be suppressed from flowing-in into the compression chamber, the hermetic compressor with high efficiency provided with high reliability can be provided.
