PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing nanofibers, which uses an electrospinning method and by which the orientation of the nanofibers accumulated on a collector can be enhanced, and to provide an apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: This apparatus for producing the nanofibers includes a cylinder 1 in which a solution of a raw material for the fibers in a solvent is put, a cylinder pump 2 for extruding the solution in the cylinder 1, a solution-supplying tube 3, a nozzle 4 having a spinneret 4a, a rotating collector 5, a high voltage power source 6 for applying a high voltage between the nozzle 4 and the rotating collector 5, and a static electricity-removing device 7 for irradiating the nanofibers wound on the rotating collector 5 with electricity-removing ions to neutralize the electric charge of the nanofibers. Since minus ions are irradiated from the static electricity-removing device 7 on the rotator collector 5, the plus electric charge of the nanofibers of insulator accumulated in the second layer and the third layer is neutralized to give the accumulation product of the nanofibers oriented in one direction without being repelled by the same polar electric charge.
