PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce equipment cost while suppressing the oxidation of a cell stack during power generation is stopped.SOLUTION: A protection device 50 for a fuel cell system includes: a voltage application circuit 51 applying a voltage having a polarity same with the polarity of a cell stack 101 in a power generation state, on the cell stack 101 including fuel battery cells 105 formed therein; and a protection control device 61, when detecting the stop of power generation in the cell stack 101, allowing the voltage application circuit 51 to apply a voltage on the cell stack 101. |
