摘要 <p>The invention provides a technique capable of measuring wear irrespective of whether an electric car overhead wire is of catenary suspension type or rigid suspension type. The invention is an electric car overhead wire wear measuring device. The electric car overhead wire wear measuring device comprises a lateral irradiating means for irradiating a region including at least an electric car overhead wire with a slit light spreading vertically of the electric car overhead wire, from a direction obliquely crossing the electric car overhead wire when in a plan view, and a lateral photographing means for photographing the region irradiated by the lateral irradiating means, and a means for calculating the vertical dimension of the electric car overhead wire on the basis of an image photographed by the lateral photographing means. When the lateral irradiating means radiates a slight slit ray, a linear map is displayed in a region including at least the electric car overhead wire. The lateral photographing means photographs the map. The electric car overhead wire dimension calculating means calculates the vertical dimension of the electric car overhead wire on the basis of the shape of the map with a portion corresponding to the known dimension of the photographed map being used as a reference.</p>
