PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection control device and a fuel injection control method for a diesel engine for a self-traveling working vehicle improving drive feeling in road travel of the self-traveling working vehicle. SOLUTION: In the fuel injection control device for the diesel engine, a governor mode determination means 12 determines operating a target value of a control rack position based on a selected governor mode when an operation condition discrimination means 9 discriminates that the engine is under a no-load low idling operation condition for a predetermined period of time if one of an all speed governor mode, and a minimum and maximum governor mode is selected by a governor mode selection means 11.
