<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag device capable of properly protect an occupant at the time of asymmetric collision. <P>SOLUTION: This airbag device M1 comprises an airbag 18 folded in the storage portion 6 for storage and a restraining means RM1. The restraining means RM1 comprises tethers 44L, 44R for restraining the separated distance of the airbag 18 from the storage portion 6 of an occupant protective part 24 at the completion of the inflation and locking means 50L, 50R for stopping the tethers 44L, 44R on the storage portion 6 side. When the asymmetrical collision of a vehicle against an article to be collided so positioned as to be displaced to one of the left and right sides of the forward center is detected, the locking of the tether 44R disposed on the side of the article to be collided to the locking means 50R is released. The restraining surface 25 of the occupant protective part 24 at the completion of the inflation is disposed aslant relative to the left and right directions of the vehicle so that the separated distance thereof from the storage part 6 on the side of the article to be collided is larger than the separated distance thereof from the storage portion 6 on the side separated from the article to be collided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
