THIRD PARTY ACCESS TO A FINANCIAL ACCOUNT

A remotely accessible server establishes a communication session with a consumer communication device associated with a financial account. The server receives a request to allow a third party to access the financial account from the consumer communication device and generates a pre-authorized access record. The access record is associated with the financial account and includes at least one parameter defining the authorized access to the financial account. The server then generates an authorization key for the requested access and provides the authorization key to the consumer communication device. The server thereafter receiving a request to access the financial account from the third party that includes an authorization key, verifies the authorization key received from the third party with the generated authorization key. The server checks the pre-authorized access record associated with the financial account to determine whether the third party access meets the at least one parameter and, if authorized, allows the third party to access the financial account.
