PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately calculate the amount of toner adhered onto an image carrier.SOLUTION: There is provided an image forming apparatus that calculates the amount of adhesion of toner of a toner image formed on an image carrier and controls an image forming condition on the basis of a result of the calculation, the image forming apparatus comprising: a sensor part including a light source that emits light, and an image element that has sensitivity to a plurality of different wavelength regions in visible light regions and detects light emitted from the light source and reflected on the image carrier; an adhesion amount calculation part 73 that calculates the amount of adhesion of toner of the toner image formed on the image carrier on the basis of rays of reflection light having one or two or more wavelengths from among a plurality of wavelengths detected by the sensor part; and a wavelength determination part 72 that determines a wavelength to be used by the adhesion amount calculation part 73 to calculate the amount of adhesion of toner on the basis of information on a color of the image carrier detected by the sensor part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
