摘要 [Problem] To provide a PVA-type polymer film which enables the production of a polarizing film having small unevenness in light transmittance between a center part and an edge part therein. [Solution] A PVA-type polymer film which fulfills the equation: 0.5 mm <= W0-W <= 5 mm, wherein W (mm) represents the amount of change in dimension of a center part of the PVA-type polymer film in water and W0 (mm) represents the amount of change in dimension (an averaged value) of a part located at a position apart by 0.3 m from either edge part of the PVA-type polymer film in water, wherein the center part and the part are located on a line drawn in the width direction (the direction perpendicular to the length direction) of the PVA-type polymer film (wherein the term "amount of change in dimension in water" means the amount of elongation of a sample of the PVA-type polymer film in the length direction as measured at a position located 250 mm apart from the edge of the film in the length direction of the film after immersing the sample in pure water having a temperature of 30°C for 5 minutes).
