In one embodiment, a hydrogen concentration measuring instrument (10) for measuring the hydrogen concentration of the atmosphere in a containment vessel is equipped with: a solid electrolyte (12) for generating electromotive force according to the hydrogen concentration of the atmosphere; a heating unit (16) for maintaining the temperature of the solid electrolyte (12) at a higher temperature than the temperature that the hydrogen concentration measuring instrument (10) can achieve when an accident occurs in the containment vessel; and a voltmeter (15) for detecting the magnitude of the electromotive force generated by the solid electrolyte (12). |
