<p>The invention concerns an extensible internal probe for surgical use for dilatation, curettage and protection of physiological ducts. It consists of a catheter formed with a flexible tube (1) provided with an expansible head (3) consisting of elongated bending elements (5) forming in open position a cone-shaped cage expandable by pulling or rotating a control rod (2) passing inside the tube, the flexible elements being in neutral position compact such that the diameter of the head is close to that of the tube. It is generally used for the treatment by catheterization of physiological ducts or for atherectomy, and for extracting blood clots liable to cause embolism or thrombosis.</p> |
