<p>A section of concrete pipe which includes an elongate hollow body having a first end and a second end, an elongate reinforcing tie member cast longitudinally into the body, and a load supporting restraint. Each reinforcing tie member has a first end and a second end corresponding with said first and second ends of the body. The load supporting restraint assembly is cast into the first end of the body. Each restraint assembly is configured to directly couple the first end of a corresponding reinforcing tie member cast in the body of the pipe to an associated reinforcing tie member of a similar section of concrete pipe. The restraint assembly is arranged to withstand or at least mitigate or reduce the effects of excessive loads and forces expected between adjacent concrete pipe ends.</p> |
