<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can simply operate a series of operations to record image data photographed by an imaging means on a recording medium in a recording unit. <P>SOLUTION: When reading operation of an original M such as a book is performed, an original pressing cover 10 is opened upward, the original M is placed upward on a flat bed platen 14 in a condition that a reading page is opened. An imaging unit 5 is fixed on the original pressing cover 10, an imaging position is established so that a turnable position is adjusted to upward of the original pressing cover 10, and the imaging unit 5 is placed right above a center position of the original M. Image data photographed by the imaging unit 5 can be confirmed by displaying on a display unit 7. After the confirmation, a recording unit records the image data on the recording medium.
