PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve optical coupling efficiency by making it possible to adjust a cut face corner of an optical fiber adaptively to the actual emitting direction of a laser beam even in the occurrence of an assembling error. SOLUTION: This is a manufacturing method of an optical module by optically coupling, with which, to an optical device 13, a fiber stub 15 having an optical fiber 14 in which an end face opposing a lens 25 is tilted with respect to the optical axis. A position (x1, y1, z1) is determined where a coupling efficiency is maximized between the optical device 13 and the fiber stub 15. On the basis of the position of the maximized coupling efficiency, an emitting direction from the optical device 13 is obtained, thereby adjusting the tilting direction of the end face of the optical fiber 14 to the emitting direction of the optical device 13obtained at the position where the coupling efficiency is maximized.
