PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a toner for electrostatic image development excellent in printing performance with good manufacturing efficiently while suppressing production of small-particle-diameter minute particles as a by-product. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the toner for electrostatic image development includes a suspension process of suspending a polymerizable monomer composition containing at least a polymerizable monomer and a colorant in an aqueous dispersion medium containing a dispersion stabilizing agent to prepare a suspension in which droplets of the polymerizable monomer composition are dispersed, and a polymerization process of carrying out polymerization of the suspension in the presence of a polymerization initiator to obtain colored resin particles, wherein in viscoelasticity measurement of the suspension before the polymerization process, storage elastic modulus G'(0.1) under a shear stressτof 0.1 Pa is 1-200 Pa.
