A revetment restoration structure using the existing gabion and a construction method of a revetment restoration structure using the existing gabion are provided to restore an ecosystem quickly by forming the suitable environment for growing plants on the existing gabion. A revetment restoration structure using the existing gabion includes a rectangular gabion(10) installed on the lower part of a river bank on which the existing gabion(100) is installed to form a foundation, a net installed on the existing gabion, a soil layer(30) formed by filling up the net with soil and plant seeds sprinkled on the surface, a soil cover material(40) covering the soil layer, and non-woven fabrics(50) installed at the backside of the gabion to prevent the loss of soil of the soil layer. A construction method of a revetment restoration structure using the existing gabion comprises the steps of: pit-excavating the lower part of the existing gabion, installing a rectangular gabion and installing non-woven fabrics at the backside to prevent the outflow of soil of the soil layer; securing a soil housing space by installing vertical nets on the existing gabion in the horizontal direction and installing horizontal nets between the vertical nets at regular intervals; connecting cover fixing steel wires of the existing gabion located on the top of the vertical nets and the horizontal nets and the bottom of the housing space; forming a soil layer by filling up the housing space with soil and compacting; pulling the cover fixing wires tightly on the paved soil and sprinkling seeds of plants suitable for the field; covering the soil layer with a soil cover material and inserting the cover fixing wire to the soil cover material to be exposed to the outside; and covering the soil cover material with a net cover and pulling the cover fixing wires tightly, thereby fixing the net cover.
