<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resolution converted image in which boundary parts such as figures, characters, etc. are clear keeping smoothness of the image. <P>SOLUTION: The method is consisted: of a first operation step which creates intermediate processing data of an interpolation pixel where tone gradation of the input image is maintained; a step to create an intermediate value from a plurality of reference pixel values for discrimination, while calculating combination of pixel values, the maximum value, and the minimum value of each reference pixel for discrimination, making a plurality of reference pixels adjoining with the interpolation pixel as reference pixels for discrimination; and a second operation step in which, if the number of combination of pixel values of reference pixels for discrimination is over a predetermined number, a value of the intermediate processing data is made to be a pixel value of the interpolation pixel, and if it is less than a predetermined number, the value of intermediate processing data and the intermediate number are compared, and the pixel value of the interpolation pixel is made to be a value obtained from a plurality of pixels for discrimination according to the result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
