PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve crushing efficiency and mixing efficiency when carrying out crushing treatment utilizing impact application, mixing treatment, or the simultaneous treatment of crushing and mixing.SOLUTION: In an apparatus 1 for modifying earth and sand, while an impact-applying mechanism 3 is disposed in the internal space of a treatment container 2, an air inflow opening 21 and an air-exhausting opening 24 are respectively formed in a side plate orthogonal to a side plate formed with an earth and sand-exhausting opening 12 in side plates of a lowermost stage rectangular cylinder 2a composing the treatment container and on a side plate orthogonal to a side plate formed with an earth and sand-feeding opening 10 in side plates of an uppermost stage rectangular cylinder 2c so as to form an upward air flow in the treatment container 2 by flowing air through the air inflow opening 21 and by exhausting air through the air-exhausting opening 24. Thus, such air flow reduces the falling velocity of the fed earth and sand to enhance the earth and sand-cracking action of the impact-applying mechanism 3. |
