摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the excess and insufficiency of a fuel injection amount when performing so-called boot-type injection for continuously performing fuel injection by raising an injection rate after performing the fuel injection by lowering the injection rate.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine comprises a control device which performs second injection for continuously performing fuel injection at a high injection rate after performing first injection for performing the fuel injection at a low injection rate. The control device determines a target value of a fuel pressure lowering amount that is a difference between the pressure of fuel in a fuel injection valve at a time point of a start of the first injection and the pressure of fuel in the fuel injection valve when the first injection is performed on the basis of an operation state of the internal combustion engine, stops the supply of a command signal to the fuel injection valve when the fuel pressure lowering amount at the first injection becomes larger than a target value of the fuel pressure lowering amount, and supplies the command signal to the fuel injection valve when the amount becomes smaller than the target value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
