A hydraulic cylinder 100 provided with: a cylindrical cushion bearing 40 sandwiched between a piston 30 and a step part 13 of a piston rod 10; a cushion passage 4 formed between the cushion bearing 40 and a bearing-receiving part 51, the cushion passage 4 exerting resistance against the working fluid passing through; and a check seal 60 provided between the inner periphery of the cushion bearing 40 and the outer periphery of the piston rod 10, the check seal 60 blocking the flow of working fluid from a connecting gap 71 between the piston rod 10 and the piston 30 through an annular gap 70 on the inner side of the cushion bearing 40 to a rod-side chamber 2, and allowing the flow of working fluid from the annular gap 70 through the connecting gap 71 to a bottom-side chamber 3. |
