PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods and apparatus to control aircraft horizontal stabilizers.SOLUTION: One method includes calculating, using a processor, a desired movement of a horizontal stabilizer of an aircraft to counteract a pitching moment of the aircraft, and controlling the horizontal stabilizer on the basis of the desired movement. The calculation of the movement of the horizontal stabilizer is performed on the basis of a velocity, a configuration setting, deployment of control surfaces, a type of maneuver, or positions of the control surfaces of the aircraft, and an angle of moving the position of the horizontal stabilizer is determined.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
