1. A self-supporting gasket for sealing a compartment between a fixed member and a movable member, provided with roto-translatory motion, so as to prevent the passage of lubricant from a first ambient to a second ambient arranged on opposite sides of said compartment, and to at least hinder the passage of external contaminants from said second ambient to said first ambient; said gasket having an annular configuration about a middle axis and having a first and a second axial opposite ends, adapted to be arranged, in use, facing said first and second ambients, respectively; said gasket comprising:
a support ring, in particular made of rigid material, preferably metallic, having an annular fixing portion adapted to be connected, in use, to said fixed member and extending between said first and second axial ends; first sealing means radially more internal than said fixing portion of said support ring, carried by the fixing portion in a position adjacent to said first axial end and defining two first annular sealing lips axially spaced from each another by a predetermined distance and adapted to cooperate, in use, with said movable member to counter the passage of lubricant from said first ambient to said second ambient and of external contaminants from said second ambient to said first ambient during the roto-translatory motion of the movable member with respect to said axis; second sealing means carried by said support ring in a position axially interposed between said first sealing means and said second axial end and defining at least a second annular sealing lip axially spaced from said first sealing lips and adapted to cooperate, in use, with said movable member to counter the passage of external contaminants towards said first sealing lips during the roto-translatory motion of the movable member with respect to said axis; wherein said first sealing means comprise two first distinct sealing rings, axially arranged side by side and respectively carrying a relative first sealing lip; in that the axial half-sections of said first sealing rings are respectively C-shaped; and in that said first sealing rings have their respective concavities facing opposite sides. |
