PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document reading device and image forming apparatus capable of facilitating the execution of opening and closing operation.SOLUTION: A document reading device 16 includes a document reading device body 102, and an opening and closing body 104 configured to be rotated with respect to the document reading device body 102 at one end and to be openable and closable at the other end. The document reading device 16 further includes a dent part 106a that is provided at the other end of the opening and closing body 104 and dented on the cross section of the opening and closing body 104 and perpendicular to the rotation axis direction of the opening and closing body, while inclined so that the depth of the dent becomes smaller toward the upper end and bottom end in the thickness direction of the opening and closing body 104; and a grip part 106 that continues to the end of the inclination of the dent. |
