EXPANSION UNIT, MEDIA SLICE AND PORTABLE COMPUTING DEVICE EXPANSION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansion device for expanding the function of a mobile electronic device in a mobile mode and/or desktop mode.

SOLUTION: This expansion device 104 is a media slice for providing the mobile electronic device with a multi-media function. The media slice receives an electromechanical interface from the mobile electronic device, and replicates the electromechanical interface for connection to the other expansion devices such as a docking station or a port replicator. The expansion device and the mobile electronic device can be connected through a latch mechanism easily coupling and separating to and from a device. The invention provides an expansion system including a support stand 102 for providing a positioning function and a supporting function to a computing device 106 and/or the expansion device.
