<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the manufacturing method of a liquid crystal display device in which spacer particles are accurately arranged at a position corresponding to a region partitioning pixel regions on a substrate using an ink-jet device. <P>SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of a liquid crystal display device, at least two projecting parts 13 and 14 are formed on the surface of a first substrate across a projecting part non-forming portion 18. The portion 18 is located at the region which partitions the pixel regions. The distance between the projecting parts 13 and 14 sandwiching the portion 18 between them, is made shorter than the landing diameter of a liquid drop 31. The heights of the projecting parts 13 and 14 are made lower than the particle diameter of a spacer particle 27. In the process in which the liquid drop 31 is to be landed on the surface of the first substrate, the liquid drop 31 is landed so as to include the projecting part non-forming portion 18 and portions 13a and 14a which face the portion 18 of the projecting parts 13 and 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
