PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable more appropriate driving assistance to be given to an own vehicle when a joining vehicle joins.SOLUTION: A controller (5) decides based on own vehicle information, joining vehicle information, and a type of joining vehicle (B) (mini-sized motor vehicle C1, ordinary-sized motor vehicle C2, or track/bus C3) whether an own vehicle (A) and the joining vehicle (B) interfere with each other. If the controller (5) decides that the own vehicle (A) and joining vehicle (B) interfere with each other, the controller (5) decides based on the joining vehicle information whether the own vehicle (A) can change lanes to an opposite adjacent lane. Based on the decision made on whether the own vehicle (A) can change lanes to the opposite adjacent lane, the controller (5) performs at least one of reporting to an occupant of the own vehicle (A) and controlling of the own vehicle (A). |
