PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound output device enabling an observer who observes a display at different angles to listen to different sounds, and to provide a dual visual field display that employs the same and a veil-view display. SOLUTION: The sound output device 100 is provided with a sound source (output means) 1 for outputting a sound (i), having a frequency obtained by multiplying a sound intended to allow the observer who is observing the display to listen to it at a position relatively moving away from the output means, by applying reverse conversion of the Doppler effect, (ii) to be transmitted as ultrasonic waves, based on the Doppler effect at a position relatively approximating the output means; and a sound source driving section (moving means) 2 for moving the sound source (output means) 1.
