PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new compound containing a fluorescent functional group, especially a compound having environment-responsive fluorescent characteristics varying Φ<SB>f</SB>value by the change of ambient environment such as the increase of the polarity of a solvent and provide a fluorescence-labeling reagent containing the compound and a fluorescent reagent. SOLUTION: The compound is expressed by formula (I) (R<SP>1</SP>is hydrogen atom, halogen atom, hydroxy, cyano, nitro, carboxy, -SO<SB>q</SB>R<SP>5</SP>, 1-6C alkyl or the like; X is O or S; R<SP>2</SP>is hydrogen atom or 1-6C alkyl; Q is 1-10C alkylene; and Y is halogen atom, hydroxy or the like) or its salt.
