PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the sealability of a dust cover of a center take-off type steering device. SOLUTION: A steering mechanism 5 of this steering device 1 has a cylindrical dust cover 30 for covering a long hole 34 of a rack housing 15. A slider 38 is fixed to a rack shaft 14, and a tie rod 28 is connected to the slider 38 through a fitting bracket 39. The peripheral edge 36d of a hole 36c of the dust cover 30 is pinched between the fitting bracket 39 and the slider 38 in the periphery of a projecting part 43 of the slider 38. The peripheral edge 36d of the hole 36c of the dust cover 30 includes an annular rib 36e projecting toward the fitting bracket 39 and an annular recessed groove 36f provided in the back of the annular rib 36e. The slider 38 is formed with an annular projection 38g to be fitted in the annular recessed groove 36f. Since recess of thickness of the annular rib 36e when pinching can be thereby restricted, sealability of the dust cover can be more secured. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
