The seat (1) or the backrest has a sensor system for identification of the occupancy of the seat or the backrest made of flat conductive structure, which forms a folded condenser and which is placed below the covering of the seat or the backrest. The condenser is impinged electrically with direct current or alternate current and is connected with an electronic circuit for measuring its electrical charge or capacitance, which evaluates the signal of the condenser. The conducting structure is made up of thin, flat and conducting metal foil, particularly consists of copper foil.
