A cushion structure of the side air bag device is provided, which minimizes the damage of passenger by dividing the evolution pressure appropriately. A cushion structure of the side air bag device comprises: an inflator(10) producing the expansion gas according to the development signal inputted in collision; and a cushion receiving the expansion gas provided from inflator and develops. The cushion is divided into the top cushioning portion(12a) and the connected lower cushion part(12b) around the intermediate diaphragm(12c) having a through-hole(12d). The top cushioning portion is more widely expanded than the width of the lower cushion part in the development.
