The present invention relates to a method for producing containers (2), which are filled with a liquid filling material, from parisons composed of a thermoplastic material, and to a device for this purpose. The problem addressed by the invention is that of proposing a method of said type, and a device of said type, in the case of which it is predominantly possible to work with reduced pressure. To solve the problem, a method of said type is proposed, wherein the respective parison is thermally conditioned and is subsequently, during a deformation phase, deformed in a mold, so as to form the container (2), by liquid filling material which is introduced into the parison under pressure from a supply line (14) through a moulding and filling head (3), characterized in that, in a first phase, the parison is stretched axially and radially by filling material supplied from the supply line (14), until the parison has substantially assumed the shape of the container (2), and, in a second phase, the supply of filling material is shut off such that a closed-off volume is formed downstream of the supply line (14), and the container (2) is formed into its final shape by way of a build-up of pressure in the closed volume (11), without a further supply of filling material.
