The purpose of the present invention is to ensure the insulating property and the like of a resin-molded stator. This axial gap rotary electric machine has: a rotary electric machine stator that forms an annular body, wherein multiple core members, which comprise a core extending in the direction of a rotary shaft and a coil wound around the radially outer peripheral side of the core, are arranged in a circle around the rotary shaft, said stator having a resin-molded section on the radially outer periphery of the annular body; a rotor opposing an end surface of the annular body in the direction of the rotary shaft, with a prescribed gap therebetween; the rotary shaft, which is connected to and rotates together with the rotor; and a casing for rotatably supporting the rotary shaft. The resin-molded part has recesses on the radially outer periphery, and the radially outer periphery of the annular body is at the same position as the position of the base part of the recesses, or is closer to the rotary shaft. |
